Who is on the bus this year — not a GPS story

16 September 2026 · School bus

The question at six in the morning is not where the bus is. It is who should be on it, who drives it, and which stop the child uses.

Remora treats the vehicle as the hub. A name, an optional registration, a kind — bus, van, car. The driver is a member of staff, often with no login. Relief sits on the same file. Insurance and visite technique have dates, because those dates are the ones the police ask for.

Children are marked as using the bus for the year, then assigned to a vehicle. A child can sit on the bus list without a vehicle yet; that is the unallocated number the office should see, not hide. Unassigning takes them off that vehicle. It does not pretend they never used the bus.

Stops are named places. No map, no times we would have to invent and then keep. Parents already know “after the market” and “the junction by the church”. The driver gets a printed care list: name, class, stop, first-call guardian. It is not a register. It is what you hand someone at dawn.

Spend, service, repair, inspection live on the vehicle. A school that does not run a fleet leaves the desk off. A village nursery should not be looking at a bus module. Rows stay if the school later ticks Vehicles.

Request a walkthrough. If the school runs a fleet, Vehicles is ticked with the rest of setup.
