Higher institutes
The registry, the bursary and the lecturers of a higher institute
Polytechnics, universities, BTS and HND schools run on programmes and semesters, not classes and terms. Remora gives an institute its own screens, in its own words: students, programmes, courses, CA and exam.
Programmes, levels and courses
Add programmes from sixteen worked examples — accounting, computer science, nursing, law and more — as BTS, HND, Licence, Bachelor or Master, or add your own. Levels are named the way your country names them: Licence 1–3 and BTS 1–2 in French, Level 100–400 for a Nigerian or Ghanaian bachelor. Sample first-year courses come with each example.
Two semesters, each with a CA and an exam
Opening the year makes its two semesters, each with continuous assessment (30%) and an exam (70%). The office opens, locks and publishes each one; completeness shows every course still missing marks.
Course registration by the level
Open a registration window per semester, then register a whole level on its courses in one go — or one student on one course. Course capacity is respected, and registration can wait until school fees are paid.
Tuition and course fees
Price tuition per programme level and semester, add a registration fee per course, assess the semester, and take the money at the till. Receipts show the programme and level, and money paid ahead is applied to the next charges.
Lecturers
Each lecturer signs in and finds their own courses: the course register (everyone present, mark the exceptions) and the marks for the open CA or exam.
A link for each student
Students open their fees, results, attendance and course registration on their own phone, with no account and no app. A guardian or sponsor who pays can have their own link.
Student lists from Excel
Import a list into one programme level at a time; the same list again moves students rather than adding them twice. Mature students of any age are accepted.
Questions
Asked before you start
- Is it the same software as for schools?
- The same application, with screens of its own for an institute: no classes, no report-card ranks, no day pupils and boarders — programmes, courses, semesters and results instead.
- Can we keep our own programmes and course codes?
- Yes. The examples are a start; programmes, levels and courses can be added and renamed, with your own codes and credits.
- How do students see their results?
- On their own private link, once the office publishes a CA or exam. Nothing unpublished is shown.
- Does it work in French?
- Yes — Licence, semestre, CC and examen on French screens; Level, semester, CA and exam on English ones.
