School fees that still add up after the last parent leaves
16 September 2026 · School fees
A private school does not fail at fees because nobody collected. It fails because the book and the cash no longer agree, and nobody can say which child still owes.
The desk takes cash. There is no online payment, on purpose: Mobile Money at a gateway is a different product, and schools have been sold that product before the till was honest. Remora numbers a receipt at the desk. The parent holds a copy. The book keeps a copy.
Charged, collected, still open. Those three numbers have to exist per child, per class, and for the school. A bursar who can only see “this morning’s cash” cannot answer a parent who asks about last term. A board pack that cannot name arrears is a story, not a pack.
Siblings arrive together. One household, one conversation, several balances. The desk has to add them without inventing a family account the school does not use. Remora keeps the children distinct and lets the bursar take them in one sitting.
The office sends the parent a private link with the receipt — on Nyocte or WhatsApp — and it opens in the browser already on the phone. Nobody installs an app to find out whether the child still owes.
Request a walkthrough. The fee heads are loaded with the school, so the first afternoon at the till is a real afternoon.
